Welcome to Brackensdale Junior School

We hope you find this website useful. We have aimed to give you information about our school to help you work with us to make sure that your child enjoys the four years that they spend with us!

We would like to encourage you, as parents, to get closely involved with the school as we firmly believe that children's learning and well-being prosper when there is a close partnership between home and school.

We are a community school, for children from 7-11 years old. We have Enhanced Resource status that means we have a number of children with Autism in school, both in the mainstream school and our Phoenix Suite. The class organisation for 2011/2012 is as follows:

Four Year 3/4 classes and Four Year 5/6 classes. There are also two classes in the Phoenix Suite. The number of children on roll is presently 214.

Each class has at least one Teaching Assistant with some classes having up to three TA's plus the class teacher. We encourage all children to become independant learners and to enjoy learning in different ways. It is our hope that as children mature they will become successful learners and in time, responsible citizens.
